New products in autumn – even more options for your engineering

When the fields are full of hay bales, you know autumn has arrived. And you also know it’s time for item to launch new products across its ranges – the item Work Bench System, machine automation, lean production, factory equipment, signalling, clean production and robotics. Here’s an overview of the highlights in each category.

Each year, we launch new products and innovations onto the market. This autumn, we have a particularly rich harvest to share. Taking pride of place this year are, among others, solutions that help with automating processes in intralogistics.

The right solution for mobile industrial robots

Driverless transport vehicles such as AGVs and AMRs have become a common sight in many production areas. Whether for order picking or just moving goods from A to B, the demand for mobile industrial robots is rising all the time. Our new Base Carts and custom Top Modules can be used to build the perfect solution for your automated transport or logistics task.

Our solution consists of a chassis (Base Cart) that can be supplied in a ready-to-use variant or be custom-configured as a basic frame. The ready-to-use Base Cart variants have been optimised for compatibility with specifications such as the sensor technology, dimensions and docking mechanisms of mobile robots from ABB, MiR and Safelog. They are available in the Engineeringtool as pre-prepared assemblies. They are also designed for the dimensions of europallets and provide a standardised interface for the superstructures, which are referred to as Top Modules.

Thanks to our new designs, we can offer two crucial benefits:

1. We satisfy the specifications of numerous manufacturers and therefore ensure safety and functionality
2. We support a high degree of design flexibility

Whether multi-level order-picking racks, transport fixtures for small load carriers or complete assembly add-ons, the Top Modules are always incredibly easy to mount on the Base Carts. They are available as example solutions for a whole range of application areas, but can also be created as an entirely bespoke design using the item Building Kit System.

The Base Carts are available for models from various manufacturers. Here you can see the variant for the AMR T701 from ABB (left). The example for the Top Modules (right) is equipped with roller conveyors.

A stable base for cobots – the new Lifting Column

Our new components for collaborative robots expand the working range of these robotic helpers. The key is our new Lifting Column TCP/IP 24V. It is so strong and resistant to torsion that it can lift and lower a cobot and workpiece vertically during palletising operations. Lifting Column Adapter Plate 8 200×200 is responsible for making the connection between column and cobot. Additional Robot Mounting Plates are available for cobots from ABB, Doosan, Fanuc, Kassow, KUKA, Omron and UR. These ensure a stable fixing can be achieved on the base. To speed up project completion, we also offer the Plug-And-Play Set, which contains the Lifting Column as well as a power supply unit, Mounting and Adapter Plates and cable chain.

The Lifting Column TCP/IP 24V and the corresponding Lifting Column Adapter Plate 8 200×200 open up even more possibilities for palletising tasks.

New products for linear technology

To extend the working range of cobots horizontally, item now offers a Range Extender with a robust Linear Slide. it is available in the item Online Shop as a configurable example solution that can be quickly and easily adapted. The Range Extender helps make it possible to process products over a defined stretch and stack or unstack goods at several positions. When it comes to safely accommodating heavy loads and moments, new Linear Slide KRF 8 80×40 offers ideal assistance. It features a torsion-resistant guide profile and is combined with Linear Unit KRF. Used together, these two linear axes with criss-crossed roller guides create a dynamic working environment for cobots and can achieve a speed of up to 10 m/s.

Alongside the Range Extender, there are other sample solutions, including numerous 2D gantries. These offer a way to create systems comprising two synchronised linear axes combined with another Linear Unit – systems that can cope with a range of lifting heights, speeds and payloads.

Rounding the curve with confidence – new components for the item Suspended Conveyor System

Our modular and quick-to-install Suspended Conveyor System is an intelligent alternative to moving goods from A to B in load carriers. When working with materials and products that are better being transported while hung up, this system provides an especially efficient and space-saving supply and picking solution.

To optimise the flow of materials, we have now added 45° and 90° Curves to the system. They are easy to attach to the Conveyor Rail Profiles and have a special shape that stops Carriages from canting and keeps them safely on track, even when moving at high speed. Suspended conveying systems can be built to custom specifications as a result.

What’s more, new Release Unit 6, Carriage D37-32 can now be used to create shooter solutions. Thanks to Separator 6, Carriage D37-32, Carriages can also be separated out for the sequential infeed of materials.

Efficiently supplying head-liners for cars: The item Suspended Conveyor System is ideal for transport tasks in the automotive industry.

Tailor-made drawers for every purpose

Another new addition to the item product portfolio is the modular Drawer System, which comprises carefully coordinated components. To ensure drawers assembled with this system can be integrated into profile frames perfectly, their height, width and depth can all be customised. Drawer Front and Frame Profiles are available in three heights, and drawers can be configured precisely in the item Online Shop. Various Front and Frame Profiles are available to meet different requirements, such as variants with a built-in grip, like Front Profile H66 with Grip and its matching Frame Profile H66. Telescopic Rails can also be added, if required. These are fastened to the Line 5 profile groove on the outside of the Frame Profiles. The new Assembly Set 8, Telescopic Rail 12.7×45.7 makes it easier to fix the Telescopic Rails in place.

Our new Drawer System makes it particularly easy to design fully extendable drawers and pull-outs for industrial applications.

Better organisation and a clearer overview at the work bench

The new options for displaying information at work benches ensure work can be organised to perfection. Whether it’s a keyboard, laptop or monitor, we make sure it can be easily fixed in place in a way that frees up space on the working surface. For example, a keyboard can be securely set down on the new Keyboard Tray, while the Laptop Holder offers a universal shelf for mobile computers that can be combined with the new Pivot Arm so it can be positioned at the ideal height.

The height-adjustable Pivot Arm is available in two versions, one with three joints and one with four. They provide the perfect means of keeping materials and tools in easy reach. The item Work Bench Configurator is a fast and user-friendly tool for putting together your own personal workstation. The practical example solutions in the item Online Shop also offer a valuable source of inspiration.

Design custom cleanrooms

We now offer numerous components for building cleanroom-compatible enclosures with walk-on ceilings. Using Profile X 8 240×40 1NO light ensures that self-supporting ceilings exhibit minimal profile deflection. They even help to construct self-supporting ceilings up to 6 metres wide. A modular wall trunking system for safely concealing cables in the wall and adjustable Ventilation Grilles are ideal accessories for perfect customisable cleanrooms, whatever your specific needs.

Strip curtains are a neat solution when a production area needs to be quickly partitioned off. They keep dust and contaminants out, reduce noise and prevent draughts. Unfortunately, conventional solutions are often complicated, prone to faults and take a lot of effort to fit and replace. By contrast, the new item Strip Holder can be easily installed and replaced very quickly – just clip it into a Line 8 groove and that’s it: job done! Each transparent PVC Strip can be cut to size with a knife and is fitted separately, making them easier to install and replace.

Even with a ceiling with a width of 6 metres that has to carry a lot of weight, the Profile X 8 240×40 1NO light (left) allows only minimal deflection. Our strip curtains (right) are a flexible solution for creating a partition that can be installed quickly in production.

Smart signalling

Our parametrisable LED Strips and Indicator Lights communicate the operating status of your machines and industrial plants at a glance. For example, Multi-Segment RGB LED Strips can provide custom signalling that is integrated into a profile groove and operated using Multi-Segment RGB LED Strip Controller IO-Link 24V DC. These LED Strips can light up in different colours, either along their full length or in sections – all according to your needs. A new addition to this portfolio is Multi-Segment RGB LED Strip Controller DIN/AIN 24VDC, which can be operated using digital and analogue inputs. This new Controller features five digital inputs and one analogue input that can be directly connected to switches and sensors. Any WLAN-capable device can be used to configure the Controller according to pre-defined operating modes. An intuitive, user-friendly web interface makes it easier to set up and use the Controller.

Multi-Segment RGB LED Strip Controller DIN/AIN 24VDC (top left) can handle several operating modes for industrial signalling solutions. Commissioning and parameterisation are carried out via a web interface using a WLAN-capable device.
